Meet Lavender Fields

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lavender Fields.

Lavender, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out playing classical piano as a child, which introduced me to the musical world of enchanting and precise classical compositions. My love for nature and the desire to help people were always predominant forces influencing all my life choices. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in journalism and creative writing from Baruch College in NYC, I decided to dedicate myself fully to composing music that would uplift and inspire people; music that would open hearts and help people to develop a sacred connection to our beautiful planet Earth. I have attended Dubspot music production school in Los Angeles which helped me to solidify and perfect the skills of creating my own music. Now I am living in Echo Park, producing heart-centered music and enjoying the rich and diverse community of Los Angeles.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an independent artist means that every day you have to come up with your own plan of action to be able to thrive in the world while keeping your creation process a priority. It surely comes with certain challenges but none of those challenges can overweigh the joys of being a free artist creating from the heart. Life is full of obstacles, but being able to find balance through daily meditation, yoga, nature and community help me to navigate in this reality tremendously.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Lavender Fields focuses on creating music from an open heart space; looking at the world with the eyes of a child. Being enchanted by the beauty of nature and transcending it through the sounds of music. During the current ecological crisis on our planet, I think it’s important to bring the message of love for the Earth through such powerful media as art and music. And that is what remains the centering thought behind Lavender Fields creations. I’ve started “Light Up The World” project where a group of volunteers helps me plant lavenders in each city I tour in. During the current pandemic this has been happening more locally.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As soon as the world is opened back up, I am looking forward to organizing more all-ages shows where kids can attend and enjoy live music. Lavender Fields is for the children, they are the future guardians of our planet and I want them to have a good time and be exposed to heart-centered music that promotes love for nature and the world around. Currently, I am working on two new projects: a spiritual mantra music album where I am exploring the world of sacred chants from different spiritual traditions; and an album of music for kids, as well as creating children’s books that focus on environmental awareness and natural spirituality. I will continue to release new singles for the rest of 2020 which will be available on all digital streaming platforms under Lavender Fields.
