Meet Stephanie Wallace of Stephanie Marie Health Coaching Services in Riverside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Wallace.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been in the field of fitness since I was in high school. I grew up an athlete so it was easy for me to study exercise in college. It wasn’t until college where I saw the full extent of what exercise truly is. I saw that it can be medicine for the body. Healing, disease from heart disease to diabetes and even mental ailments as well.

It didn’t fully hit me until I was diagnosed with a chronic condition and actually suffering from poor mental and emotional health from traumas I’ve experienced. Now, I have adopted exercise and nutrition as apart of my own medicinal treatment and I teach others to do the same. Exercise and nutrition go deeper than cosmetics. They are apart of the healing process.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. It took a while for me to navigate how to operate fully in my day job, building a business, managing a social life and navigating healing from trauma. There were times where I wanted to quit everything and hide in isolation somewhere far away. I struggled with perfectionism and wanting everything to be aligned but for all the wrong reasons. It wasn’t until this last year that I had to get familiar with being uncomfortable in order to bring to the surface what was needed to come out of me. What came out was some -ish but also very powerful. The struggle revealed strengths in the end and that is what mattered.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Stephanie Marie Health Coaching Services – what should we know?
I own a health coaching business. I teach people how to overcome their roadblocks and achieve their health goals. I provide life hacks to what we might perceive as hard so that we can check off the box of seeking out positive healthy behaviors on a daily basis. I specialize in chronic disease and weight management. I am most proud of being education-based. I believe knowing the why behind what you do to be healthy is of utmost importance. Without a why or unique purpose it is difficult to be motivated to do anything. The why assists in motivation. It is easy to exercise but attaching yourself to the why you do it makes exercise a lifestyle. I am set apart because I’m not just regurgitating to my clients what I learned in school once or twice. I live this. Having a chronic condition myself, I LIVE THIS! I may look the part on the outside. I may look as if I have been “healthy” all of my life but I feel the best coach is someone who has also played the game. And I have definitely played and aim at winning in the name of health every day. Why not show others that they too can do the same, chronically ill or not!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My resilience and consistency has kept me a float. I am on mission to help others improve their quality of life through the pillar of physical health and I can not stop until that mission is complete. How could I teach about getting through a roadblock if I can’t move my own! Owning a business and competing in the marketplace of fitness and health can be distracting, discouraging and exhausting however, I believe all health coaches have a message that needs to reach people. Staying the course in my dream to help people will manifest itself in my client achieving their dream of being healthy.
