Meet Quentan McGuire of MGTV Network in Woodland Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentan McGuire.

Quentan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a young African American man from Houston TX. After graduating high school in 2011, I moved to Hollywood, CA to study acting at the American Musical Dramatic Academy. I didn’t complete the program; however that opened the door for me to step into entertainment. As I went on to continue studying acting under the casting director Matthew Barry from films such as the NoteBook. Expanding to roles such production assistant, story development, pitching under the leadership of Holly Carter who owns Releve. I begin to understand I enjoyed the business aspect of the business more. I would be able to create my own work and provide opportunities for others. Fast forward to 2016, I began MGTV Network as a hope that millennials would have a space to express, grow, and a place our voices can be herd for our generation. My team and I create immersive, interactive compelling stories of our time. While also co-creating with social influencers on major social media platforms.

Currently, my company is working on stories driven around social issues immigration, police brutality, racism, justice, and etc. Lastly, we believe action must be coupled with our Out Loud Conversation. We’ve been honored to help lead thousands in today’s movement in the fight that continues for Black Lives Matter. By coordinating with leaders all over Los Angeles that’s in coalition with Black Lives Matter. We’ve all coordinated 1 million man march for June 19 we are the entire city will come together in March in unity alongside with influential voices within the culture.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all! I’ve had to go back to the drawing board seems as though 1 million times. Many struggles and obstacles have presented along the way; however I’ve learned to use each obstacle to propel me to the next moment. Some of the struggles within creating stories consisted of commitment from others, budget, props, and the list goes on. While actually having our foot on the ground in regards to the Black Lives Matter Movement. Struggles that are presented is social injustices, and to plainly say is the LIVES OF BLACK PEOPLE are at risk.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a producer, conduit, and connecter. My position is to get the job completed if that means build the A team, grabbing refreshments for everyone, whatever is needed to tell an impactful story. I’m most proud that my team and I are being/making history with the rest of the world in the Black Lives Matter Movement. What sets us apart is our keens to integrate technology such as Virtual Reality to further share and tell the stories of our time.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is a beautiful place to start if you’re looking for diversity and freshness within cultures.
