Meet Shavon E. of Ntrl in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavon E.

Shavon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been into fashion since I was in elementary school, I just had to look different no matter what I wore. Whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say “a fashion designer”. Clothes are definitely a statement for me and anyone who knows me knows that I’ve always been different and dressed how I felt, not really with the trends. I started NTRL (natural) a year ago and basically taught myself how to run an online store. I quickly learned that clothes weren’t as easy as it looks.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the fashion world, everyone seems kind of “stingy” with information. So I winged it and did online and groundwork to get the answers I needed.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Ntrl – what should we know?
Ntrl is known for the “Diamond denims” which are re-constructed Levi’s shorts with diamond fringe. This became my “it” piece. The feedback I get from customers after a purchase is amazing. I knew that my brand was unique and would catch a lot of people’s eyes. Promoting my brand on Instagram has been my number one source of sales and this is where I showcase all of my pieces. NTRL offers everything from shirts, dresses, shorts, and much more. Making women feel good by looking good is my goal. I want to make sure us women embrace our natural curves and body with confidence. I plan to do big things and take my brand to the top by trusting myself to continue to bring looks that women would love.
