Today we’d like to introduce you to Liana Herrera.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always loved and had a passion for photography but only recently I finally decided to start my own professional photography business. 2017 was the year I got married and also got laid off from my work of six years. After getting laid off, I started a wedding blog and through that blog, I started to receive a lot of submissions of beautiful work from various photographers around the country and world and looking at all of their photos got me inspired to start Liana Herrera Photography. One year ago I became a mom and my main reasons for starting my photography business are my son and my husband.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth road at all. Since I recently started, two of the biggest struggles right now are COVID-19 and getting clients.
Please tell us about Liana Herrera Photography.
Liana Herrera Photography is based in Santa Clarita and serves Los Angeles Country and beyond. I love capturing moments that will last a lifetime. I specialize in photos of couples (engagements, proposals, etc.), families (maternity, fresh 48 newborn, lifestyle newborn, family, children, babies, etc.), branding, seniors, events (birthdays, etc.), and weddings. After each photo session with me, my clients get all of their images online with a print release. I don’t believe in withholding any images from my clients to get them to pay more because these are memories of my clients and my promise to them always is that I would capture those memories fully and provide them with more than enough images to remember that special time in their lives.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is traveling with my parents to Russia, Vietnam, Thailand, and UAE, and capturing those memories with photos. I was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
