Today we’d like to introduce you to Taka Narui.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Taka. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Japan. When I was a kid I loved watching and helping my mom in the kitchen. She was a number 1 chef for my family. After I moved to LA in 1991, I started to work at famous fine restaurants such as Jiraffe in Santa Monica, L’Orangerie, Luques both in West Hollywood, Matsuhisa restaurant in Beverly Hills. In 2014, I decided to start a catering business to bring my style of food using Japanese and French techniques to a wider audience.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road (still going on!)
Please tell us about Taka’s Japanese Catering.
I run a catering service. All the menu is the custom made, I make every single menu for my client’s needs. I specialize Not only Japanese food but also French-Californian fusion.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would do the same way. Even though Sometimes I struggle, I in fact enjoy how I solve them!
