Meet Adam Cole of Loser Parade in Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Cole.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been teaching myself to play music for sixteen years, as well as producing it. I always wanted to be in a band but the opportunity never came up until Andrew and Miguel extended the offer to join Loser Parade.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No. I suffer from general anxiety, and social interaction has always been difficult for me. Being in a band requires lots of social interaction and I have had to work on being able to handle being the center of attention along with my bandmates. Socially speaking, I have definitely come a long way in being better then when the band first was starting out.

Please tell us about Loser Parade.
Loser Parade has been performing since 2018. We play a blend of pop punk and rock music. We bring a unique irreverence to our public image by not taking ourselves too seriously. We are proud of making an impression on people with our presence, and comments we get not only on our music but on our presentation. I personally feel that a lot of rock music, especially on a local level, can be a very “stand up and play your instrument”, dry affair. I don’t know if that is nerves or lack of experience, but we try to adopt a “fake it til you make it” attitude and adopting that persona on stage. People seem to respond to it.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
When designing the packaging for our debut EP I had the privilege of including art from Donatella (IG: @skullduggery707) a good friend whose hand-drawn pieces for each song helped drive the EP’s “scrapbook” theme and tie everything together. In a day and age where physical media is increasingly overlooked I’m really proud of that packaging and she played no small part in it. She also designs my custom picks and some of my amp decorations which all guitarists know are a crucial element to good tone.

Personally speaking, I have a wonderful support network of friends but above all, my partner Jen has been invaluable in aiding me in pursuing my dreams and aspirations in music. Her support for myself and Loser Parade has been monumental in getting us where we are today.
