Today we’d like to introduce you to Alysia Kaempf.
Alysia, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Massachusetts. I have always had an interest in health and fitness at a young age. I joined my first gym at 14 years old and this started my passion for health and wellness. At the time, I noticed there weren’t any options for many healthy tasting protein bars. I loved to cook and bake so I started creating my own at home. In 2006, I started a company called Leash cakes, where I created protein-based desserts. These were sold locally in gyms and in various shops.
Living in a small town in Massachusetts, I knew that I had to move in order to grow my business. So I packed my bags and headed to the west coast. It was there that HBE was born which stands for Hardbody Energy. Historically, energy drinks have always had a bad rap. I knew I could change that and make a difference. It was then that I decided to create a product that can be a healthier option than most.
Today, we have several flavors of HBE, both regular and sugar-free. All of our products have the lowest content of sugar and caffeine. Studies show that the body can only digest a certain amount of caffeine until it no longer takes effect. Large amounts of this can cause high blood pressure, anxiety disorders and heart disease to name a few. We have the highest content of B vitamins to boost your energy naturally. This can boost metabolism, brain function and keeps a high level of serotonin in your body, which is also called the happy hormone.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
To say that it has been a smooth road, would not get me to where I am today. All small business owners and entrepreneurs often have many struggles to get to where they and I am no different. There were many challenges. Some with finances, times in perfecting the products to where I was completely satisfied and other times you find yourself compromising. But along the way, you learn by listening to your partners and others that have succeeded. Being open to failure and knowing with the lessons learned from it, you gain the knowledge you need to move passed it.

Hardbody Energy is a company that is based out of Los Angeles, CA, established in 2018. We manufacture healthy products that fuel the body. Our products are only made with the highest quality ingredients that will supply the stamina that every person needs to thrive and be the best they can be. We are currently being sold at Hollywood Burger – 6250 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90028.
Outside of making healthy products, we plan on establishing HBE Angels which will create various platforms to support and empower people. By giving them the right tools to succeed in their goals. Our not for profit programs and donations will back up community organizations globally thru the means of education and endorsements.

There’s one person in particular and that’s my mentor and best friend. He has taught me so much about business, life, having a good work ethic and the importance of confidence and practice.
