Thanks for sharing your story with us Ioan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started learning about marketing in Collage in The Netherlands. I then started an entertainment company and record label focused on electronic music called Trick Track Entertainment where I learned more about online marketing.
A few years later, I co-partnered in a shared economy short stay business in Amsterdam where I got some more people skills and business skills. In 2017, I started an online ecommerce store which I managed to grow from $0 to $500k in less than eight months. With this success, I noticed that friends and people asked me to help them also achieve some success with their own businesses so I decided to start a digital marketing agency.
Upclose Agency is a social media marketing agency solely focused on paid online advertising with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google, and LinkedIn ads.
We help businesses automate and control their customer growth by setting up advertisements and landing pages designed to convert targeted traffic into buyers.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Just like any business, there were ups and downs. My biggest challenge just like everyone was money, it was harder to get a starting capital and after some money came in there are so many ways you can spend your money without knowing if you will see a return of investment.
After a few hit and miss, I learned more about what I had to do, what works and what doesn’t work.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally think that if I do something that I like for the rest of my life I’m successful. There so many people that do something that they don’ t like with or without having a lot of money and that’s not, in my opinion, a way you would want to live your life. After all, we only have one life, so just focus on what makes you happy and stick with it, eventually, it will work out.
