Meet Arthur Parra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arthur Parra.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Arthur. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been creative and into drawing and painting when I was younger but I would say I really started to develop an eye for things when I started skateboarding with my friends. I remember I got a video camera one year for my birthday and would bring in tot he skatepark and film my friends and I skating. But never really took it serious.

It was a lot of fun and I could tell I had a talent for it but never knew what to do with it. It wasn’t until years later after working my 9 to 5 that I really started to explore this passion. I would every Friday after work pack up some clothes and drive to LA to shoot with and meet new friends. It just kind of grew from there until there was a point where I couldn’t do both and just had to take the leap and go full time with my passion. Its been almost two years now and haven’t looked back haha.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not necessarily smooth, it was definitely a struggle at first and still have some bumps here and there but thats all a part of the process. No matter what I’m going through I’m happiest doing this so I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I think the biggest struggle so far has been learning how to not just be the creative and having fun with that but actually how to develop my own business and treat it like its a business. There is a lot that goes into it than just getting to travel and make films haha.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a travel and lifestyle videographer. So I specialize in working with different brands and hotels all around the world. I’m most proud of how I’ve stayed true to my passion and have built connections that allow me to live my dream everyday.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like LA is definitely good for businesses like mine. It’s probably the #1 place you can be in terms of that. I would but I would also recommend that you really concentrate on what you’re trying to accomplish and figure out your “why” like what’s the main goal you’re trying to accomplish and be very clear about to and reverse engineer it from there. Break down the steps to get there so you have a blueprint on how to accomplish these goals instead of aimlessly going about it, it’s going to take you way longer and you may end up somewhere you don’t even want to be.
