Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Padgett.
Darryl, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Trap Wing Festival originated from another event we had called Wings & Wine. We wanted to come up with a way to bring a younger more enthusiastic crowd out. Everybody knows Atlanta is known for its Trap Music & Chicken Wings. We basically took both of those and put a Festival like concept behind it. Which of everyone on social media. From there we just ran with it.
The first Trap Wing Festival took place in Charlotte, NC. Following that Memphis, TN, Orlando, FL, Tampa, FL & Atlanta, GA. Based on our 2019 success in the South we decided to take Trap Wing Festival to the West Coast.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, things have been far from smooth. Over time we had to learn how to plan for the unexpected. Bad weather, venue issues, sound problems, issues with the wing cooking process. It’s a lot to plan for, especially when you are in a city where you’re not from. But with time we got better and by the grace of God we have always overcome all struggles and pulled off successful events.
Please tell us about Trap Wing Festival.
Trap Wing Festival is a mini indoor/outdoor Wing Festival Like Event that features a unique Wing Buffet & Open Bar with a Trap Music Theme. We open the stage up to anyone who wants to rock out to their favorite, Future, T.I, Gucci Mane, or whoever song with Trap Karaoke. Our DJ, DJ Juice will be providing nothing but dope sounds. All hosting my up and coming Comedian and Host Jai C.
The Wing Buffet will feature some of Lit Ass Wings best wing flavors such as Hennessy BBQ, Sweet Chili Patron, Hawaiian Pineapple Ciroc, Honey Butter Lemon Pepper, and East Atlanta Hot Lemon Pepper. We’re most proud of the fact that we did it. We created an event that is wanted by many across the county and we are traveling doing what we love. People tell us that they travel from neighboring states just to come to our event. That’s major!
I think the thing that separates our wing events from other events is that we’re not just about making money. We honestly want everyone to have a good time and come back to the next event.
