Meet Trailblazer Brandilyn Tebo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandilyn Tebo.

Brandilyn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had a tumultuous and challenging childhood, from which I developed OCD, a sleep disorder and an eating disorder. I was an over-achiever who never gave myself permission to play. I had many childhood wounds that I had no idea how to work through. And then, I discovered the path of transformation. In quick succession, I completed The Landmark Forum, a Vipassana meditation course, got a therapist who taught me about inner child healing, and stumbled upon the work of Wayne Dyer, Ram Dass, Krishnamurti, Ken Wilber and Byron Katie. My life quickly changed and I became much more joyful, playful, self-expressed and compassionate with myself than I had ever been.

A deep inner healing had occurred and I looked at the world completely differently. I was hooked. I began my lifelong journey of studying transformational modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Nonviolent Communication, Shamanism and Somatic Healing. I quickly discovered that I had a gift to help others. So I started coaching. And coaching and coaching and coaching. Eventually, I started my own coaching business and invented The Shift Retreats. Since then, I have written a book, The Achievement Trap, hosted dozens of retreats, published 50+ articles, and coached hundreds of clients.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting my own business has been an inner work obstacle course. It is a constant game of loving the parts of myself that are fearful, doubtful, resistant, insecure and disempowered. My advice: whatever arises, love that.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a transformational coach who helps people metabolize the challenges of their past so that they are free to create inspiring, heart-centered futures for themselves. I teach people how to no longer be at the effect of their past, their thoughts, their emotions or their circumstances and start being the architect of their own reality. I specialize in inner child work and teaching people how to make peace with every part of themselves. My gift is that I am able to see beyond people’s constructed identity into the heart of who they truly want to be and help them become that.

The company I founded, The Shift Retreats, is committed to providing and intimate, specialized and life-longlasting transformational experience over a weekend.
