Meet Bailey Noble of Bai-li in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Noble.

Bailey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Bai-li was born in the summer of 2019. I began crafting my own deodorant at home in my personal quest for a natural deodorant that actually worked. I played around with the recipe for a few months until I found a formula that actively blocked my odor didn’t irritate my skin and felt amazing! I became obsessed with my homemade deodorant (my friends and boyfriend can testify to that haha) and started to wonder how I could share it with more people. I knew I wanted my packaging to be plastic-free so I found awesome biodegradable/compostable push up tubes that make applying my deodorant super easy. The name Bai-li (pronounced like Bailey) was given to me by my first love who passed away three years ago. He was studying Mandarin in China when he told me my Chinese name would be Bai-li. He told me it means pure-beautiful. When it was time to name my deodorants it was as if he whispered Bai-li into my ear and I knew it would be the name because all of my ingredients are pure which I believe is beautiful. Not long after that, I opened a Shopify store and began marketing on Instagram. Instagram is an INCREDIBLE tool for connecting. I am now in 9 retail stores across the country! Creating Bai-li and bringing it to market has given me so much joy!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, Bai-li has been a pretty smooth road, which is how I know I’m meant to be doing this. Of course, anything worthwhile takes time, effort and LOTS of learning, but I truly believe if you have to force something to happen, it’s probably not the right thing. I’m also very fortunate to know a lot of people who are very smart when it comes to business who have helped me along the way. And even when a snag comes along in my process, I have fun figuring it out. Starting a business from scratch has been an exhilarating challenge for me!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Bai-li is an all-natural deodorant consisting of only eight ingredients which are ethically sourced, organic, natural and plant-based. Bai-li is aluminum-free, baking soda free, paraben-free, fragrance-free and cruelty-free. I wish to help eliminate everyday plastic packed deodorants with a more sustainable, healthy option, which is why Bai-li is known for it’s biodegradable/compostable tube! Although there are many natural deodorants on the market right now, there are not many plastic-free deodorant options. I’m greatly proud to introduce an eco-friendly alternative to the market. Good for you, good for the planet.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always had a love for creating. Growing up, my Mom would set my sister and I up with paints, glitter, colorful pipe-cleaners, homemade play-dough, etc…anything to get our creative juices flowing! It’s very much in my blood to create. And I’ve always said, I’d be unsatisfied at the end of my life if I hadn’t tried a million different things! There are so many things to do in such a short amount of time so if you’ve got an idea, why not try it! Ideas tap us on the shoulder and it’s up to us to help bring them to life!

Pricing:
