Meet GioVanni Watson of 37th & Fillmore Productions in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to GioVanni Watson.

GioVanni, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
From GARY INDIANA home of MJ started out as a professional dancer at 17 to all the stars Omarion, Chris Brown,Will I Am, Tamar Braxton, Keke Sheard, Beyoncé, etc. which brought me to LA, after a 13 years professional dancing career and in the midst of dancing I was always known as the funny, goofy class clown, which I was writing for other comedians and comedic actors, IE: Brandon t Jackson, Lamorne Morris, wild n out, etc., acting was always my passion and I started to focus on that! Shot a few films and guest star and recurring roles on tv shows which is what I’m focusing on til this day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hell no! When I was touring and dancing for artist I didn’t Have a place to stay due to me always being gone and didn’t need one, but there were times where I would be in LA on break or when I got injured and couldn’t dance I was living with friends, car, couch to couch or if I had a gf staying with them, after some time I had to retire because of my injuries and money was going faster then getting it! I was relying on women to take care of me and it broke my spirit and ego down! And the women would use that as power over me! I suffered and suffer from depression anxiety, which leads to some things that got me in trouble with the law.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m known as a dancer, actor, writer, producer, director, 37th & Fillmore is my production company I started to create and distribute MY OWN content due to being over looked due to these days you have a ton of followers to get noticed so the best way for me was to create my own content the title of the company is the street I grew up on in GARY Indiana.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Malik Whitfield (ACTOR) helped me with an audition after just meeting him outside of a Jamba Juice, he literally came to my house and didn’t know me.

Will I Am a great friend after dancing for him, reaches out to me when he needs help with visual ideas for his videos or content.

Lamorne Morris (actor) bailed me out of jail twice and never asked for the money back and also involves me in any writing he needs.

NEYO consistently drills positivity in me as a man and stays on my ass about getting back in shape.

Flo-Ri-da always is bigging me up to people saying how slept on I am as an actor and always tells me to come over when he’s in town due to me bringing a comedic aspect to the room which he loves.

Malik Yoba was the first one to publicly announce saying I should have been one of the sons on empire, whenever I need A war or advice he always replies to me giving me light.
