Meet Chase Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Johnson.

Chase, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born and raised in Southern California. I’m a Director, Writer, and Entrepreneur aiming to become a better person each and every day by learning something new about others, the human experience, and how to grow the seed of a flower within myself.

Can you give our readers some background on your work?
As I mentioned, I’m a Director and Writer who graduated from USC with a BA in Creative Writing. Most of my days revolve around work whether that’s working my 9-5 at a Studio Lot, researching history, psychology, social theory, writing at least, for an hour a day: Poetry, Journaling, Scripts, watching old cinema, Netflix, Foreign Films, shooting, practicing seeing from different perspectives, asking people deep and interesting questions about themselves so I could obviously hear and get a new perspective on something.

Why do I create? I create because I was blessed too when I was a kid, I always wanted to reach people through TV. At the time, I thought that ability would be through acting, but as I got older, I realized that the power was through storytelling– humanity’s first art form.

For example, if you’d ask me, “How was your day?”

I’d respond with a story that would give you a better perspective and understanding of who I am and what I do. That story allows us to connect.

That’s my message; connect and respect. How do we connect and respect those who have been forgotten or are made to believe that they are invisible? I make films to explore and journey that pathway, but I hope that I don’t make that journey alone.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
Access and resources.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
On www.thescribbleroom.com, which is the business that I started formerly with my brother, Devin B. Johnson, but it’s currently being run by myself and my business partner, Suveer Bhatia. Also, my Vimeo account under Chase A Johnson.
