Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Koop.
Christina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey when I was 15 and decided to launch a beauty + fashion media site, Runwayz Magazine at the time. It was an online editorial where models, photographers, makeup artists, designers would collaborate and shoot styled editorials online and deliver amazing work. This was my first taste of working for myself and I loved it. I knew that in order to launch my dream company a luxury marketing + design boutique firm I would need some experience and years under my belt so I started working in the industry of marketing right away.
I worked for a fashion week as a senior project manager, a frozen yogurt corporation as a marketing executive, med spas, agencies, etc until I felt I had the hands-on experience I needed to launch my agency. Voila! J’adore PR + Marketing was born and to this day serves clients in the real estate, med spa, beauty, fashion, and tech arenas.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Entrepreneurship sure would be a lot more attractive to more people if it was smooth. It never is a smooth ride and to this day we experience many ups and lows just like any other business does. We experienced struggles such as loss of vision in our own company design, lead generation growth/decline, clients who did not want to pay our worth, etc. You will experience so many positives and negatives in a service business but what matters is that you learn from these and come up with solutions every time.
