Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Bankston.
Nathan, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started playing music when I was 14 years old. I started a band with my brother who played the guitar and a friend who played drums. They both asked me what I was gonna play and I told them I was gonna play bass and be the singer which I did not know how to do either. My brother and I had a band which had many different names over the years until I discovered how to record with logic pro x, and then my focus changed from a band to producing music.
I graduated from the Los Angeles Recording school in 2017. Since then I have been collaborating as much as possible. I have sessions almost every single day at my home studio in Granada Hills. I produce all different genres but the primary genres I do are pop, hip hop, rock, and EDM. I play multiple instruments including keys, drums, guitar, bass, and ukulele. I am currently teaching myself how to play an accordion and a dulcimer.
I produce and write for my band Brothers Bankston which is an indie-pop band, Phantom Professional which is a hip hop, and pop group. I also release solo music under Bankston.
Has it been a smooth road?
Everything in life is a learning experience and my career thus far is nothing less. I struggle most with patience. I constantly want a finished product before having everything in order.
