Meet Ashle’ Latece Robbins of Orange Theory Fitness in Northridge and Westlake Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashle’ Latece Robbins.

Ashle’, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Ashle’ Latece Robbins. I played basketball in high school and have always had a love for sports and fitness. I started in the fitness industry in 2015 after I had this urge to learn more about how to get into the best shape of my life. I trained with the top bodybuilding coach ( Charles Glass) for almost a year and decided from then on I wanted to be a trainer. After graduating from SOCHI and earning several NASM certifications I immediately began my career at Crunch Fitness in West Hollywood. Several months into my first year of being a trainer my now fiancé and I found out we were expecting our first child. I continued training clients all the way up until my due date. Once we had our little one my life changed forever.

After having a very difficult delivery, c-section and feeling defeated I realized that I was struggling with postpartum depression. I met with a psychologist weekly to help get me back to who I was and while that helped, I knew that the one thing that always worked for me was moving my body and challenging my mind. I decided that I was going to come back stronger than ever. I began to work out as soon as I was clear and resumed training clients 10 months post-partum. I went from training in our small apartment home gym to working for several major gyms one of those being Orange Theory Fitness in Northridge and Westlake Village.

I am obsessed with this workout and coaching classes is just my thing. I always feel like my role for every class is to make people forget about their reality for one hour. To bring joy, great music, and energy to everyone’s life and to infect them with enough positivity so that they can beast their life. I consider myself to be a coach for the people. I’m not greater than anyone and while I coach for a living I truly learn more about myself from members than they’d ever know. I still can’t believe I get to do this for a living. I’ve been able to partner with companies like Athleta who are changing the face of fitness for women and I owe it all to fitness and following what brings me joy. It’s been only a few years minus my year off post-baby and I can’t wait to bring the heat as we enter 2020. I’m just getting started!

Has it been a smooth road?
Let’s just say this road has had major bumps in it. I had a plan in my head of how life was going to play out after graduating from Southern California Health Institute and well you know that joke about how you try to tell God your plans right?! Nothing went according to my plans but everything has gone the right way. I’ve encountered postpartum depression, imposter syndrome from being the only pregnant trainer in a gym full of the fittest people in LA and still managed to keep going with the understanding that my journey wasn’t going to look like the typical trainer’s journey. I am a trainer and now I am a mom.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
The gym that I coach out of most days of the week is Orange Theory Fitness in Northridge and Westlake Village. I am known for my high energy, great music and maybe even dancing it out with my members every now and again. I specialize in functional movement and making sure that what we are doing while training makes sense. I’m most proud of the fact that members can’t get enough of the workouts. You get a variety of ways to train the body in one hour and I find that people really enjoy the challenging templates.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
That’s a YES for me! Los Angeles is like the home of gyms and you will find Orange Theory everywhere. This workout is for everyone which is why you are seeing OTF gym’s popping up on every corner. This gym is very unique. You will have moms, dads, professional athletes and everything in between feeling challenged from the workout. It’s truly a great place to get an incredible workout and meet new people.
