Meet Bill Reilly of Crown City Theatre in NoHo Arts District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Reilly.

Bill, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Crown City is an award winning not for profit theatre company that presents an intimate and innovative theatrical experience. Making use of all the performing art forms of music, dance, and visuals using the latest technology Crown City creates unique experiences. From traditional theatre and musical theatre pieces to original works the theatre presents its audiences with challenging and engaging entertainment.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With the major newspapers nor reviewing live theatre anymore….it has been a challenge in keeping audiences informed as to what is happening in the LA theatre scene. We are constantly working with new ideas and platforms to reach the public

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Crown City Theatre story. Tell us more about the business.
Although we are best known for our musical productions….we also have presented some very razor edged dramas such as Thomas Babe’s A Prayer for My Daughter and Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.

We are also well known for shows that we developed as a company including Two Grooms and Nosferatu, a Symphony in Terror…. (Which received three awards as Years Best Production from local press and critics.

Our sense of adventure and risk taking is one of our hallmarks that our audiences keep coming back for. One of our critics called us “fearless” and that is something we strive to be.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
It depends on what you call luck. We have been very lucky to work with so many talented artists and musicians. We have been lucky that the press has generally been very kind to us and we have been lucky that so many theatre goers have come back to us time and time again so see our shows. But of course that luck has been helped by everyone’s dedication and hard work as well as their amazing artistry.

Pricing:

  • Tickets are generally 30 dollars…but we don’t want anyone to not see the show because of their inability to pay. Just give us a call and we will work it out.
