Today we’d like to introduce you to Zondria Arquisola.
Zondria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
June 28, 2012, is when my life changed forever. I decided enough was enough and checked myself into an outpatient rehab facility. I had suffered silently for five years through my addiction which led to my life spiraling out of control. Growing up as a child of divorce I always struggled feeling loved by others and especially myself. With a constantly working single Mom and a Dad who I saw every other weekend, loneliness was a part of my existence.
In high school, I was reminded almost daily that I was different and hated by many of my fellow lady peers. Walking down the school halls I would have bottles thrown at my head, girls walking past me yelling profanities, and even class discussions about how they could attack me and cut up my face because “I thought I was too pretty.” Living this nightmare during high school and coming home to an empty home led to low self esteem.
I often cried wondered what was wrong with me and why didn’t people like me. This feeling trickled into my young adulthood as well. After falling in love for the first time, and falling out of love and being completely heart broken from constant lies and cheating I turned to a life of partying and drugs. My love for partying lead me moving to Las Vegas where I could do as I pleased and live in debauchery every night. One night I called my parents crying and admitted to them that I had a problem and didn’t want to live this life anymore. They had no clue I even had a problem. With addiction it is usually a very personal demon hidden from the ones you love.
I admitted to them that I was hopeless, suicidal and needed help. I had hit rock bottom and knew I was two feet into the grave if I didn’t stop now. I checked myself into rehab and I slowly began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was able to talk about all of my feelings and concerns and receive positive feedback and also rewire my brain into thinking positively. It was then that I met a handsome young man who was going through the same struggles as myself. We immediately bonded and saw a vulnerable side of each other that we both never experienced before. He expressed to me that he was a single dad overcoming his addiction as well. We spent the whole summer together and fell in love. We soon married and welcomed our beautiful baby girl together.
Our new life felt like a dream come true. I always wanted to have a family I could love, cherish and call my own. I then gave birth to our handsome son two years later and my weight ballooned out of control. I continued to struggle with my self esteem because of gaining over 70 pounds. I was a slim woman most of my life and did not even recognize myself in the mirror. After six years of of focusing only on my husband & kids and not taking care of my own health I decided I was ready to make a change. I decided to give the Keto Diet & Intermittent fasting a try.
The first month I completely cut out all sugar and carbs from my diet along with skipping breakfast and I immediately lost 20 pounds. I was ecstatic because it had been so many years since I witnessed the scale actually going down. I have now been living the Keto Life for over a year now and have lost a total of 70 pounds. What I have realized this last year is that weight loss begins in the mind first. You have to decide that you deserve to look and feel healthy. You are worthy of living your best life! I have been asked to speak at women empowerment seminars about encouraging women to take back their power.
We all have the power within us to overcome and persevere and make things happen for ourselves. After my Weightloss success I followed my dreams of becoming a realtor here in the South Bay. I love helping people make their real estate dreams become a reality. It has been such a fulfilling and rewarding experience learning to love myself I vow to never sell myself short again. Looking back on my life from where I’ve been to where I am now I never take life for granted. Everyday God has given me is a true blessing and I now know I am here for a reason!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
As a realtor, I provide a service that exceeds all expectations by making the real estate experience as stress-free as possible for my clients. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my life so far has been becoming a Mom. I have two biological children and also a stepdaughter who is in her teens. My kids are truly my inspiration and help me to stay passionate about what I do in my everyday life. I plan to build a legacy and become the blueprint of how to never give up no matter what obstacles stand in your way. My kids have shown me true and endless love and their happiness is my happiness.
