Meet Juss Reggie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juss Reggie.

Juss, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Coming from a small town in Mississippi chasing a comedy dream isn’t ideal at all. After moving to California in 2014 I honestly had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I have been told for years you should do acting or you should do comedy. In 2019 I stepped on stage for the first time and I been riding the high every since. I am addicted to stage lights what can I say I’m a natural Star. I promote laughter daily cause it’s honestly the only sense of control we really have when something is funny you can’t contain it and I’m just here to deliver the funny. If you wanna see Juss Reggie live he will be performing live, at El CidSunset Oct. 13.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
On New Year’s Day 2019, I started a moment of homelessness down on myself I started to not believe anymore. The thought Of suicide rung in my mind like bells, but I stuck it out motivated by my two beautiful daughters to not only stay in California where I was homeless but where I had no family no support I built all that for myself. From losing my family to losing my job to losing my car I felt defeated everyday but resilience is the strongest trait to have why chasing a dream. No matter how great an excuse is it doesn’t alter nor change reality…

JussReggieComedy – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
JussReggieComedy is a versatile lane I must say it ranges from hilarious skits to pro black poetry honoring beautiful black women, it takes on accountability and mental reform in my community promotes therapy to heal the trauma bestowed on us as a people. I will be launching a podcast “Medicate & Motivate” that gives a vivid look into the African American reality of men and women along with my co-host Jennifer Wynn and a host of guest who will be stopping in this moment I’m in is my proudest of my brand getting on stage was the battle this is how I gain favor in the war..

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Telling my parents to say “Hey Siri play don’t call me fatboy by JussReggie” the greatest feeling in the world besides my first father-daughter dance in 2017.
