Meet Vanessa Melendez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Melendez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Vanessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started shooting after I was gifted my first camera for Highschool graduation in 2010. My grandpa started a studio in Mexico near a wedding chapel and its been running in the family blood generations from him.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely Not! Photo equipment is pricey, especially if you style your shoots and branching out into different style techniques can get tricky. It’s a bit of a gamble and I enjoy every bit of it.

VanessaMelendez.Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business has a wide range of services. I provide customized portraits, headshots, fine art, commercial, engagements, wedding photography, as well as videography. I’m most known for my fine artwork. I am most proud of creating a set style true to me. I make sure to keep evolving and I am not afraid of getting weird.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
That’s a tough one! I stay setting goals for myself and experimenting so it’s a continuous rollercoaster of proud moments. I guess maybe the “BIG ONE” it has yet to come.
