Meet Eve Muradyan of Unicorn.one in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eve Muradyan.

Eve, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working for international consulting company when I was 22 years old as a consultant and still kept teaching marketing part-time at the university. Couple of months later, my CEO wanted me to join them full-time. After six months, I became Head of the marketing and PR department and represented us on international level abroad. Two years later, I’ve been invited to work on a marketing strategy to take one European cities from 27th position to Top-5 in the world (providing e-services for citizens). According to United Nations research conducted in 2018, city reached 1st position in the world’s Smart City ranking. For five years I was part of a big shift, implemented big data analysis, worked on a different projects creating marketing strategy and monetization models.

Accomplishing all that was great, but the next challenge was calling, so I applied for an acceleration program for startups, got accepted, and moved to Silicon Valley in 2015 to work on my company. We created a video streaming platform and mobile application. In 2017 my friend introduced me to video games focused company to expand my network. It was one of unexpected meetings in life. Soon after that meeting, I became a Director of strategic partnerships in the fund, investing exclusively in video games and esports, and I was also in charge of Investor relations. For the next two years, I’ve been working with Family Offices and PE/VC Funds. As a former entrepreneur, I also learned a lot about Private equity and saw potential opportunities in the industry. In 2019 I launched a management platform for Private Equity and Venture Capital.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was very similar to swimming in the deep ocean at night: you know you can swim, but you also know it’s deep, there are sharks, and you don’t know how long until sunrise. The only way to survive is to keep swimming. Different country often brings different mentality, different approach in doing business and negotiating deals. For me it was all new, I had to learn how to present myself, and my achievements. The most difficult part for me wasn’t moving to another country itself. The biggest challenge was to stay focused when you face challenges and stay down to earth when you succeed.

In the US if you keep working hard, you will succeed. Giving up was not an option for me. I already knew what the older life could be, now it was time to achieve new heights. Often, the challenges you’ve overcome, are the battles with your own demons you’ve been fighting, it’s every morning you got up and kept going over and over. Ben Horowitz once said, ”As a startup CEO I slept like a baby. I woke up every 2 hours and cried.” – that describes well my first two years after I moved to start a new life. Entrepreneurs are a special breed. We see opportunity for growth when we face challenges.
