Meet Alexandra Yaya Nsila Kongo of The Healing Priestess in Pacific Palisades and Calabasas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Yaya Nsila Kongo.

Alexandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Through my journey to find “myself” and my desire to seek inner peace, I discovered a gift which I believe comes direct from the Divine. Since my youth, I have always felt my intuitive/empathetic side to be on point.

For the past five years, I spent most of my time to fully open myself up to the spiritual world. After spending 2.5 years practicing Kundalini Yoga, I began to feel a deeper connection and change within. Everything started to fall in place. I spent time learning more about crystals – (as a gemologist of 18 years, I was never taught the spiritual meaning of gemstones and crystals) and with that knowledge I began to use the energy of crystals during my healing practice. Through my journey in meditation, my ability to heal others became a part of who I am today. Having spent time with many different spiritual practitioners, I created my own healing method. My methods are a mix of Reiki and Shamanic work. I believe that the Universe has given me the strength and ability to heal through the Divine and this has become my true calling.

I’m known mainly as an Energy Alchemist and Medium. I treat people who suffer from both physical pain and emotional blocks. As a medium, I can perform spiritual masses to call upon spirits for communication.

After mastering my abilities to heal through my hands, I began my study in Palo Mayombe. It is of an Afro Cuban tradition. I was truly fascinated by the mystical world and the universal powers it held. I spent a good portion of my time practicing and learning Palo Mayombe. Soon I found myself taking the oath to became a Priestess; also known as a Yaya or Yayi- by doing this I took on a greater responsibility to help others and I was blessed with more spiritual abilities. Working with the mystical realms of the universe is very deep and complex but I truly love it.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The spiritual world is not an easy world to walk in. I have faced multiple challenges along the way and I am certain I will continue to face more in the future. However, that has not stopped me from doing what I love. I have faced some personal challenges that were difficult to overcome, but with the blessings of the higher powers, I made it!

Of course, I have faced some external challenges, with clients. Each person is unique along with their situation. Sometimes, I really have to spend the extra time to study a person well in order to understand what the actual issue is. I like to take my time and really focus my attention to find the right solution for each person. One important thing a person needs to take into consideration is that healing takes time and it is not an overnight process. Patience on both ends are required in order to succeed!

The Healing Priestess – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
When I am doing work in Palo Mayombe, things get a bit deeper. I introduce Palo Mayombe to those who are dealing with more difficult spiritual problems or for those who are seeking a higher level of protection. With my knowledge in Palo Mayombe, whether you are facing health issues, personal emotional blocks or hiccups in love, I have the ability to help through the guidance of my spirits. I can also perform methods to do a complete detox; removal of unwanted spirits and to purify and cleanse a person’s overall spirit. I like to call this a “Spiritual Tune Up.” I also have the ability to cleanse and purify physical spaces; such as a house or areas of business.

I love making spiritual amulets, as I was a jewelry designer for over 18 years. I now take my design skills and create amulets also known as Makutos- they are used for a number of reasons, such as promoting luck, prosperity, good health, love and overall protection. I always say, ” the spiritual world is so vast, the world is your oyster so use it to your advantage! ”

I have a great amount of patience to truly listen and help those who are in need. I will not only help heal you from your problem(s) but will give you guidance and solutions to heal yourself and live a happy and fulfilling life.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
What makes me successful is watching the ones I help become successful. I take great pride in what I do. I have completely devoted myself in the spiritual world, putting my entire heart and soul in making a better life for myself, my family and those who I care about, this includes my clients. When I see a person rise from their fall, nothing is more rewarding than to watch this in motion. This to me is success. It is not about making tons of money, driving a fancy car or living in a huge mansion. Success to me is building yourself up to a higher purpose day by day, taking the empty void you once felt inside and fueling it with so much love and compassion, this is called self-love. By doing this, a person can ultimately find peace within. No money can buy such beauty. If a person wants help, they shall receive it and it is readily available to anyone, should they seek out to have it. As they say in Mayombe, ” Ndoki Yaya, ” which means Blessings on to you.
