Meet Marteverick Shears of Pressed Out Media Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marteverick Shears.

Marteverick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Memphis, Tn October 8, 1993. Since the age of six, I’ve always known that my passion and purpose in life was to work in the entertainment industry. I began having dreams of being an actor and a recording artist (rapper), and by the age of 16, I was signed to an independent recording label in Memphis. While signed to the label I would take it upon myself to grab a camera, get a friend to record me performing my songs, and I would go into Adobe Premiere and create videos with the footage. Things eventually took a turn for my music career, and I got dropped from the label and was forced to use my backup plan after graduating high school. My back up plan was joining the service. I joined the Navy in 2013 and was stationed overseas in Sasebo Japan for three years.

During my time in Japan, I still recorded music, performed, and shot videos for myself and other artists. After my time in Japan, I was stationed in San Diego until the end of my obligated contract wit the Navy. January 2018, I realized my true passion wasn’t in music but was behind the camera. So I decided to start my company Pressed Out Media Group.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say yes and no. Of course, the struggle is getting out there and starting fresh while learning your craft and the business at the same time, basically going through trial and error. I would say the smooth part comes after finally just stepping out on faith and just “doing it” business and opportunities have just fallen into my hands.

Pressed Out Media Group – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
