Meet Lee Benton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Benton.

Actress/Producer/Evangelist Lee Benton was born & raised in Tampa, Florida and grew up with loving parents and one older sister. Lee and her sister sang gospel songs in various churches & events performing as a duet, known as the “Benton Sisters”. When she was a teenager she started attending modeling school on Tuesday nights “just for the heck of it”. But her Tuesday night boredom booster turned into a very successful ten years modeling career becoming the media darling of Florida, seen in magazines, newspapers, & TV commercials.

Lee came to Los Angeles in 1982, where she became a Series Regular role on the hit TV Series, “Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer” as, “Jenny”. Lee immediately got plenty of work guest starring roles on “Fantasy Island”, “General Hospital”, “The Tonight Show”, “Hotel”, and recurring roles in “Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and The Beautiful”. She then landed a role on the incredible hit movie, “Scarface”. She moved onto the BIG SCREEN – starring in various feature films. has not stopped working in TV or films since.

Lee began her own production company in 1994 which led to Producing & Hosting the very successful TV Show “VICTORY ROAD with Lee Benton” on “UPLIFT TV”. Her show is currently reaching 189 Countries and in over 25 million homes in America. We are also available on two web tv shows – HSBN and Faith Unveiled.

Lee interviews celebrities & others as they share their Victory stories. Some of her guests have included Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Academy Award Nominated Actress Terry Moore, Burt Ward (“Robin” from the TV series Batman), Freddie Poole (formerly with The Supremes), and Paul Sorvino (actor from Goodfellas). Lee was nominated for “Best TV Show” and Winner of “Best TV Show Host” at the 2019 ICFF Film Festival.

Dr. Lee Benton is still performing as an actress but has also been called to evangelize to the world for His Kingdom. She calls herself an “Evangelist”, but actually became an “Ordained Pastor” in 2014 and received her “Doctorate of Theology” in 2017.

In the year 1990, while filming on a movie set, Lee started a prayer group which led to her, “Ladies Share & Prayer – Bible Study in LA”, which continued for 22 yrs. In 2012, this ladies group eventually turned into her, ”Praise & Worship” meeting at CBS STUDIOS for six years. In 2019 Lee moved from CBS Studios to the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood where she currently holds a non-denominal ministry meeting consisting of Hollywood Producers, Directors, Writers, Actors & others.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No. Receiving financial support, as with any non-profit of course, have always been tough. But with God’s help and the donations of generous people, my show has been on the air for five years and has become a great success.

Also, finding the right people for my production team has been a struggle. It’s hard to find the perfect fit, to find people who understand your vision, and who are dedicated. You can be unstoppable if you have the right team of people around you.

Please tell us about Victory Road with Lee Benton.
This show was designed to bring hope & encouragement to those who have lost their way. There are more hurting people in this world than I ever imagined. Everyone needs hope and encouragement no matter who they are – we all have that in common.

That is what this show does, by listening to other people’s life tragedies and victories it gives you wings to fly. Encouragement to keep going on when you want to quit. Some people that have watched this show that have been discouraged and ready to call it quits on life, realized, after seeing others’ life trials and tragedies turn in to victories and went from scars to stars – they too can survive and carry on their purpose in life. And that is what I am most proud of…lives being changed.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
You have to know how far to help people and when to let go. If you constantly are pulling someone out of their troubles and out of the holes they have fallen in to, it will cripple them to handle their own life challenges. So it’s good to help people but to a certain degree, if people keep coming back to you with the same issue, you have to know when to let go and allow them to learn their own life lessons, or it will enable them to depend on you forever instead of growing strong enough to stand on their own.
