Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Anderson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Allie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2013, with a fresh diploma in my hand, I was a sorority girl ready to take on the world. I had my life planned out to the tee- I was going to get a 9 to 5 job at a corporate advertising firm, fall in love, get married, have kids, keep kicking-ass at my job and continue down the life path I was brought up to believe was the best way.
What came next turned my future completely upside down. I was pregnant! Within a few weeks, my military fiance and I got hitched at a small town courthouse, moved across the country, and I started an online business making and selling custom t-shirts for sororities across the nation to kill time before the baby got here.
Sales were slow for the first couple of months. I started reading books, watching YouTube videos, and read a ton of articles on SEO and how to boost sales. A few weeks before our little girl arrived, I got my first bulk order of 200 products. At nine months pregnant and in a small apartment in San Diego, I busted out the order just in time for our daughter to arrive.
From there it has been straight-up the roller coaster. I have met some really incredible and talented people along the way and have made life-long relationships with sorority chapters. I won “Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” through the National Association of Women Business Owners out of Ventura, CA and have found that I love being an advocate for women business owners. (Girl Power!)
Rush Crush™ is now one of the top searched for greek-licensed companies on Google and is in the top 1% of all Etsy shops. I couldn’t be more proud of where we are and of all of the people in my life who have been so supportive to get us here.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve worn a lot of hats and have learned more in the past six years than many people learn in a lifetime. I’ve been a mechanic, marketing expert, manager, HR consultant, insurance agent, product developer, accountant, website creator.. all to get the business off the ground and all while raising two tiny humans.
I think the hardest challenge for me has been that through wearing all of these hats, I lost sight of the creativity which is the reason I started the business in the first place. As the business owner, I’m only creating about 20 percent of the time and the rest of my 80 hour works weeks are dedicated to paying bills, reporting payroll and doing a ton of paperwork. Eventually, I hope to hire a team I trust to do these tasks for me so I can get back to creating.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rush Crush – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Rush Crush™ is a premium custom apparel company for sororities across the nation. We are known for our fresh finds and modern designs and are proudly licensed with 26 national greek organizations.
All of our products are made in-house starting with our graphic design team, to printing with professional equipment and ending with shipping it out to our customers. I like to have control of the quality of our products so we can continue growing amazing relationships with organizations.
Our team has built our brand to be one of the top greek-licensed companies out there because of our quick turn-around time and thousands of 5-star reviews. We are different from other companies because we ship out tons of orders but have a small-town feel with our team. When customers call, we help them understand that we were (or are) in college too and we’re here to help make their ordering process easier so they can focus on all of the other important things in their lives like finals, jobs and friendships.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our most exciting plan in the works is a new program for campus brand representatives at over 50 universities across the country. The new ambassadors will go through an application process and if selected will then get access to free clothing, cash towards their philanthropies and discounts for their greek chapters. We’re hoping to launch in 2020.

That’s my daughter, Allie! I couldn’t be more proud of her! She truly bleeds the entrepreneur spirit of determination, hard work, creativity, and willingness to do the dirty work and long hours! Just yesterday she woke up at 4 am in FL and flew cross country eith two plane changes back to Cali and by 7 pm was back at Rush Crush working! Thanks Voyage LA so much for encouraging women in business!
