Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Fahel.
Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started acting when I was around 16 and did an exchange in Stratford, Canada. After that I went back home (Brazil) and started doing some theatre. In 2015, I moved to LA and went to the New York Film Academy, I did the afa program in acting and decided I wanted to start producing my own things. From there on I just started producing more and last year I started producing feature films as well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not really. I think when I moved here I thought it was one thing and then I actually realized what it was. And I feel like it’s so much more than just finding your way in the industry. I struggled a lot with being away from my family and being proactive without having a set schedule for things.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I work as an actress and a producer. I feel like recently I am a lot more into producing. I work in both productions that I develop and also projects that I find and that I feel are good. Definitely doing Bang! Bang! last year. It was my first feature and working in all of the steps from development until the post-production was definitely incredible.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am not sure. I am definitely in a moment in which I believe everything happens for a reason. I used to get really angry with some situations and now I kind of just think that if it didn’t happen, it wasn’t supposed to happen. It does help to be proactive and look for new opportunities, you can’t do much in this industry alone. But I think it’s most likely a mix of luck of being at the right place or talking to the right person and that being meant to be.
