Meet Darryl Tombleson of V.E.S Enriched Creations in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Tombleson.

Darryl, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in a small rural town in New Zealand, (Hawera) and recall from a very early age always feeling ‘out of place’, the escape in my teens was the cinema, anything ‘James Bond’ related was a favorite, with the thought of an exotic lifestyle in mind, fashion, a hot romance, travel and adventure was all consuming. As a male, and not accepting the ‘given’ in life, being an apprenticeship, the pub on weekends, marriage, and finally retirement, wasn’t for me, time to escape that mentality. Another major motivating force was a childhood spent dealing with constant bullying, emotional and physical abuse within a dysfunctional household, which meant survival mode being my saving grace (another story in itself). Rather than let that experience destroy me, I chose to use the trauma as a positive driving force to become more giving, loving and compassionate, with an intimate understanding of other’s psychological struggles. Constantly wanting to explore, what was on the other side of that mountain, having left school at 17, and spending a year in Tauranga,(the opposite side of the country) in a small cottage with two incredible flatmates and friends, was my sanity cleanser, and after a year, time to move overseas. I traveled to Australia, bluffed my way into becoming a waiter & barman, (a disaster early days, having carried no more than two plates and glasses, never at the same time mind you!!). Dabbled in acting & modeling, hosted male review shows, (similar to Thunder Down Under In Las Vegas) and Marine Park Shows, (Atlantis Marine Park- Perth WA), or your equivalent of a mini SeaWorld. My hospitality experience was the driving force in developing to a franchise stage OZ Outback Theatre Restaurants, (the template for Outback Steakhouses I’m told). As a natural progression, I then went on to produce international sporting and concert events (including the world’s largest indoor Rodeo’s, giving them an entertainment and corporate twist), and Woodstock feel with my music concerts, (70’s & 80’s artists, real music). Another ‘bucketlist’ moment involved the purchase of a Fijian Island, and developing it to a Resort stage, interestingly enough, the cost and process was a lot less expensive and complicated than I’d anticipated, once you sit back and begin with a little creative thinking,(the alternative, pay someone $2M to consult), thus my crash course in Island development commenced, something I look forward to doing again. I’m a big believer in theming venue’s, finding a cost-effective arty way in which to design and manage the many Nightclubs, Hotels, Motels, Restaurants and event companies I owned and operated over the years.

Most recently, I’ve developed the world’s first ‘No Hangover’ organic Vodka & Gin and Anti-Aging Enriched Mineral Water- VES Enriched Creations, beverages that will change the spirit and water industry forever!!

In conjunction with the development of the spirits and water, I’ve formulated a Hollywood Film & Television Company, having aligned with world-renowned Producers, Directors, and Screenwriters, to create a ‘Celebrity Reality, Television Show’, as much to showcase my spirits and water, as it is to produce quirky, fun, unapologetic content for Netflix.

Throughout my time within international hospitality and events, I’ve dealt with an incredible array of characters, including Royal Family Members, Celebrities, Pirates,(after managing entertainers on Cruise-line vessels in Asia) the Mafia, Politicians, and Government Officials, seeing a side to these people that the general public aren’t aware of, take them away from their work surroundings, I found many to be the most incredible people you could ever meet, quite genuine and as vulnerable as you and me when their provado and affluence is set aside.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome
Abuse, severe childhood illness and motorcycle accidents all could have killed me on several occasions, a disregard for my well-being during my childhood were my building blocks, I turned those experiences into a positive, to help both myself and others along the way. A financial and emotional roller coaster ride, having made and lost several millions of dollars. Dealing with all the nasties of the world in business, massive corruption, and intrigue, not dissimilar to that of a ‘James Bond Movie’. The key to business and life is to continuously evolve, both creatively and spiritually, as we age our priorities change, we have a greater understanding of life, I will never lose my sense of adventure, and can’t emphasize enough how fleeting life is, blink and you’re suddenly old, stop wasting time on things that don’t really matter, and people who don’t really care, find new friends and adventures of your own, it’s never too late to reinvent yourself.

VES Enriched Creations – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

V.E.S Anti-Aging Enriched Water’s ingredients are scientifically proven to be effective in slowing down the aging process, boosting the bodies metabolism, and assisting our immune systems, containing over 90 minerals and vitamins, (as opposed to other prominent brands that are simply filtered tap water, being marketed as ‘smart water’). A percentage of my profits will assist 3rd world countries with fresh drinking water supply, emergency housing for abused women and children, and Military Veterans, who deserve so much more in life, after all the sacrifices they’ve made, (as have their families). I now appreciate how my three years of basic training in the Airforce, reinforces the want and need for comradery.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Surviving my childhood and teens. Family. Developing unique hospitality venues and events, and creating the world’s first ‘No Hangover Spirits & Anti-Aging Water. Maintaining creativity and a sense of humour. Meeting some incredible people along the way.

Taking all that could have destroyed me, and using those experiences to create better a life for both myself, family, and the many friends I’ve made, and continue to make along the way.
