Meet Melissa Greenberg of Curated Closets L.A. in Greater Los Angeles Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Greenberg.

Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My family had just moved into a new house and during the unpacking process my retail background started coming through. I merchandised all of the closets and cabinets making them look like little shops. Two friends and I were having lunch and brainstormed names and next thing you know another friend had created a domain name for me. My friends really pushed and supported me during the process. Curated Closets L.A. was born in June of 2016 and has been all word of mouth.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been smooth for the most part. I’ve really had to learn all about the ebbs and flows of the business. The busiest times for organizing are definitely in the New Year! I try to keep the energy flowing whether I’m reorganizing my daughters room or helping a friend.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Curated Closets L.A. – what should we know?
Curated Closets L.A. is an organizing company that focuses on function and beauty. I will come to your home/ space and help to edit items and take them to be donated or sold. I’ll create a system for your belongings and the end result will be a beautiful usable space. My biggest satisfaction is being of service to my clients that have super busy lives or may feel too overwhelmed by a closet to get things out and moving around. Helping people to let go, see their eyes light up and shoulders drop is everything. CCLA’s end result is always to look pretty and to really have ease in the space.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Clients have been my biggest supporters because my business has purely been word of mouth! Danielle Darnault of Trove, an awesome consignment shop on Westwood Blvd, basically peer pressured me to start the biz by setting up my website. Katya Mosely, my acupuncturist and friend, has been there since day 1 brainstorming on names at Whole Foods and helping with social media copy, et al. Taylor Woods, the gorgeous facialist of mine, has referred so many clients and has really encouraged me by sharing thoughts on all matters of owning a small business. So many cheerleaders out there and so much gratitude to everyone who has helped along the way.

Melissa is a true talent when it comes to transformation. The joy from seeing what she creates out of chaos and mess is amazing. I can’t say enough wonderful things except that she is literally the best.
