Today we’d like to introduce you to Joaquin Espinacas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Unconditional love is a concept that can only be experienced in relation to others. It can also be called compassion and is the one thing that reminds us that we are part of a wholeness. Unconditional love has always moved me to experience life and search for motivations.
Creativity, self-knowledge and good relations are the subjects that motivated me to go deeper in that unconditional love experience. Since the moment I came to this world in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I enjoyed giving and sharing love with others. But the real learning has been to love myself.
I began my conscious spiritual quest as a teenager through various books, seminars, and practices. But it was until I finished high school in 1995, that I started to practice yoga, take care of my body and fast. Soon after that, my body was craving a plant-based diet, so I follow it.
That early attempt to empower my body was my first conscious act to take away the power from my mind to make decisions.
I had several points in my life, where negative self-talk and scarcity thoughts took me to feel depressed and hopeless, only to realize that I have had enough of that. And transformations followed as a consequence.
For as long as I can remember, I always loved to cook and eat but creativity and social enjoyment took me to get into the University of Buenos Aires to study Architecture. While studying, I traveled through South and North America, where I experience different cultures, foods, and people. Being a vegan foodist in the early 2000s in Argentina, the bbq country was not a delightful experience, so I became a self-taught plant-based chef because nobody was cooking the things that I wanted to enjoy.
My point of interest has always been to go deeper into my emotions to improve my relations and grow spiritually. But my journey was just beginning. After having my own restaurant; after graduating as an architect; after experiencing with different kinds of medicinal plants and drugs; after heavy vegan activism on the streets; after another deep depression and almost two years of antidepressant medicines, and after the financial crisis, I decided to share my knowledge with other people.
So in 2008, I started giving vegan food classes while working as an architect in an international firm. That’s when I discovered that teaching is my thing! I organized courses and classes in different cities in Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, England and France, and studied with raw food masters like Gabriel Cousens, Marcela Benson (USA), Aris Lathan (Costa Rica), Diego Castro (Argentina), Javier Medelowsky (Spain), and Karol Mucharef (Perú).
My professional activities were doing awesome, but the question again was: Am I loving myself unconditionally? So I keep investigating different techniques, medicines, and practices, eager to know more about what was going on. That lead me to go through a Rebirthing Breathwork process in 2012. The change was so deep that I began to learn more about it and became a breathworker.
I got in contact with being more conscious about my decisions and participated in multiple conscious energy breathing sessions and pranic retreats. I experience the 11-day process with Victor Truviano in 2013 and 2015, and a seminar with Jashmuheen in 2014.
Hungry for more traveling and conscious energy experiences. I flew to Virginia, USA to stay for a month in Leonard Orr’s University, to certificate myself as a Professional Rebirther. While traveling with Leonard after that month, I landed in California. Since that first step I had into LAX, I knew that something big was about to happen. It was there where I unexpectedly meet my wife Viviana, and after several flights, I moved to LA in 2016, got married, developed together with the Mana Breathwork Method and open our healing space.
So I have been giving Mana Breathwork sessions, teaching conscious lifestyle, coaching beautiful people and cooking for VIP clients since then.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Thank God I never had to go through physical or economic struggle, but I did have difficult times accepting myself and others. I can say that the toughest struggles came from within me. That’s why breathwork touched me so deeply. Because it is a technique that allowed me to experience release from physical, mental, and emotional burdens.
Since I started breathing consciously, the struggles had become challenges, and I give thanks for all of them. All the challenges that came into my life are blessings. Each one of them is a new opportunity for learning, enhance my wisdom, and grow.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
The focus of our business is to help people enjoy their lives by being conscious of their lifestyles decisions. So we focus on basic things like breathing, food, and relations. Mana Breathwork is a practice and a scientific method towards personal and spiritual fulfillment. It is the art of learning to breathe Energy as well as air. Conscious energy breathing is perhaps the most valuable and natural self-healing technique that humans can master. We cannot have disease and relaxation in the same space at the same time. Relaxation is the ultimate healer. It reconnects mind and body improving emotional health and physical well-being.
So we are proud of being able to capitalize our experiences to help beautiful people go to the next level. Our company is a synthesis of many experiences, techniques and ancient wisdom coming together to form a holistic based teaching platform that is a fount of fundamental value to people and the community. We align the fundamentals of someone’s true being, with the holistic methods that we are offering. We take in everything, synthesize that and come back as a holistic new strategy to self heal and thrive.
What were you like growing up?
Curious, Creative, compassionate. My life has always been marked by big transformations, and my interest goes where I see that I can bring new ways of doing things within the community. All the crisis shaped who I am, so I have always been ready to jump into crisis and lead through the storms.
I have always been very calm and patient, but very focused and persistent when I know what I want. I like to get into action, and I have never been attached to the outcomes. I like to surrender to what life is proposing. In my twenties, that was kind of unconscious, but the more I breathe consciously, the more I get in touch with that feeling. Is all about loving yourself, remembering that we are part of the Oneness and enjoying the ride.
