Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Sparks and K.C. Cardwell.
Eva and KC, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We started in August 2017. K.C. was a chef for one of my Women Empowering Events. After hearing me speak, he suggested I start a podcast. I thought he was joking but he was serious. We met up the following Tuesday after the event to discuss and it wasn’t any way I was starting it without him, he had the vision first it was only right he plays a big part. He was resistant at first but he finally did accept the offer to co-host and we have been making history ever since. That evening at a Taco Tuesday we birthed TALK-O-TUESDAY podcast.
“We are Nachoooo your Average podcast”.
I would describe us as the Urban CNN. Absolutely nothing is off limits we discuss things that are going on in the communities surrounding POC (people of color). Not only do we want to tackle the current issues we want to bring about a change be more than a voice but a force. Our show is broken down in segments intentionally. We start off with chips and dip (entertainment gossip) the hard shell (main topic and hard-hitting issues in the society. Then we come with the soft shell (a solution, suggestion, helplines anything that can be of assistance pertaining to helping the community.) Follow that up with a no-chaser segment just hard hitting are raw opinions on current events. Lastly, we wrap up with the bill over-view of the show and end the show)
We will be hosting a summer event soon pertaining to gentrification. That is the current topic we are tackling. This is affecting everyone in so many cities. The city I grew up Inglewood is being affected really heavy and where KC lives out on North Hollywood it’s happening also.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t been smooth but we won’t quit no matter what obstacles we cross. I have a full time 9-5 two children and a husband. I am serial entrepreneur so I am always creating and hosting other events.
KC is a full-time entrepreneur he is a celebrity Chef he doesn’t like to brag but he has worked with some big clients and still does currently so finding a time that works with both of our schedules is not always easy. We are not quitting. We make it work. We have not always been able to find a studio but we make a way sometimes looking back the way we made were funny as hell but we succeeded anyway and was able to put the show-up.
Please tell us about Talk O Tuesday Podcast.
We are different podcast because when you listen to us were all friends and like people you know and want to have a drink and taco with. Lets just enjoying Talk O Tuesday. We want the people to join the conversation. Talk to us tell us what you want more information on and we will bring it. We want to bring real honest solutions to our listeners. We work behind the scenes researching and making sure we are bringing factual information to our listeners. We go beyond Instagram and other social media platforms we are truth seekers and want to deliver that with every segment we bring. We want people to know what they want to discuss is always priority. We are down to earth people who love our community and truly want to see it thrive.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We have seen both sides we have a great place to record now and our sound comes across much better. On the bad luck since it’s a new studio, and KC sets it up for recording the show and our last two episodes wasn’t recorded so we did them LIVE on IG. After that went off its over. Being its a new studio he isn’t very familiar with all the buttons yet. Our last show was dope and huge tribute to Nipsey Hussle but it wasn’t recorded. So that was for sure some bad luck.
