Takiyyah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my business Fruitful out of necessity. In 2016, I was bitten by a spider. My leg became very infected, so I headed to the doctor to get antibiotics. While taking the antibiotics, I had very bad abdominal pain. Although two months later, the infection was healed, I had added pain from taking the antibiotics.
About two years later, the same infection showed up on my other leg. This time I refused to go through the same bad experience with antibiotics. I took to the internet and library to look for a natural way of healing my infection. That is when I discovered essential oils. I created my own natural blend of antibacterial essential oils, applied it to my infection and was amazingly surprised that it worked. After three weeks, my infection was healed!! I became a believer that essential oils work to heal and restore the body. During my research, I learned that doctors took the chemical strings of essential oils to create the syntectic medicine we use today. Now, I know that going back to the original medicine God created on the earth is the best remedy for our health.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have been in business for just over one year now. The process hasn’t been easy. The biggest struggle is in the mind. I had many doubts that people would be interested in my products. I wasn’t sure how to market them and generate traffic to my brand, but I am learning along the way. I think that is the best lesson. Everything doesn’t have to be in order before you get started. You can build and learn along the way. I personally think it is more adventurous to go about life this way. You will never have a dull moment.
Please tell us about Fruitful.
My business Fruitful is a health and wellness business that specializes in essential oils. Essential oils are the basis of all of my products. I make shea butters with a purpose. My shea butters help to relieve muscle pain, arthritis, nerve pain, and carpal tunnel pain, just to name a few. I also make products that relieve menstrual cycle systems such as cramps, cravings, and mood swings. My PMS Soother shea butter and body oil is one of my top sellers. Some names of my other products are Headache Relief, Cold and Flu Rub, Asthma Relief, Allergy Relief, Scar Oil, Antibacterial Oil, Skin Infection Shea Butter, Varicose Viens, Hair Moisturizer, and Hair Follicle Oil,
I have had a number of customers give me feedback that our products have changed their health for the better. Some women have taken Aleve, ibuprofen, and Tylenol for years to relieve menstrual cramps. After purchasing my PMS Soother products, they have been able to stop taking synthetic medicine and use our natural products to relieve their cramps. This is a major win for my customers and business. Synthetic medicine can cause a lot of problems with the kidneys. To come away from synthetic medicine is a success story for my customers and business. I am most proud of helping my customers take steps to improve their health.
My motto is “Your Health is Our Passion.” and this is what I want my customers to experience when interacting with my brand. My products all have a purpose that supports the body. I know what it is like to take medicine and have side effects as a result. I don’t want to experience that again and nor do I want my customers too. From this heart, I craft all of my products that ensure my customer’s health is fruitful. This is what sets me apart.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Thinking back on my journey and considering the steps I have taken, I wouldn’t change anything. All of my steps are apart of my journey and lessons. I believe that every step worked out for my good and that I am happy about.
