Today we’d like to introduce you to Ceci Frost.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ceci. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been a starter. As a kid, I started businesses left and right, such as selling homemade greeting cards, hosting many lemonade stands, initiating poetry contests, and reselling candy. Looking back at all those childhood business endeavors, it’s comedic that in my late teens and early 20’s I felt so torn regarding what path to take for my future. It wasn’t clear to me that I’d dabble in a variety of things and continue in the entrepreneur lifestyle that was natural for me as a kid. But if you go to college, you have to pick ONE thing, and that was stressful for me. My parents never pressured me to pick a college or degree but culture makes it feel like there’s a timer ya know? The last ten years have been a series of essentially leaning into the flow but at the same time staying true to my passions and values.
Has it been a smooth road?
Is the road ever smooth? Haha. Regarding being an entrepreneur and creative type, I think some of the biggest struggles for myself have been identity, doubt, and being taken seriously. Sometimes I wished I was one of those people that knew exactly what they wanted as they exited high school and into a career path. At moments it made me feel lost because I love so many things. Which ties into doubt: am I valid or just a joke? Am I all ideas and dreams but no action? Which lastly ties into being take seriously. When you don’t feel the support from others or you feel passively judged for taking a complicated/nontraditional route, YOU have to believe in yourself and take yourself seriously.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Coastal Coworking, Healing, Hope & Wholeness and Ceci Frost Creative Services – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Recently my husband and I opened a business together called Coastal Coworking! We are stoked about it! It is for self-employed, freelancers and remote individuals. While that lifestyle has it perks, it also can be isolating. We are all about community, creativity, and productivity. So far so good, we’re loving it and all the members that have joined so far!
I am a self-published author of a memoir and biography that is called Healing, Hope & Wholeness. I released this book in 2015. With that, I run a website where I publish new articles once a week and I host an online support group for women who have experienced the death of a parent. My goal for the HHW book brand is to let people know they aren’t alone in their grief journey, there is hope that the pain will ease, and to make loss a more approachable conversation. I could say a lot about that topic, haha, that’s why I have a website for it!
I am a freelance creative specializing in portrait and product photography. I love travel photography but it doesn’t pay the bills, right now at least. I’ve always been fascinated by photography and videography but started pursuing it professionally in about 2012.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I grew up in Ventura County and I LOVE it. We live in Ventura and it vibe never gets old. It’s humble, laid back, and beautiful. I love that as a city they are passionate about being physically active. It’s so inspiring to see people always biking, surfing, and running.
