Meet Uwe Diemer of AdMo-Tours Inc in San Gabriel Mountains

Today we’d like to introduce you to Uwe Diemer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Uwe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For far more than a decade, AdMo-Tours has been your motorcycle travel agency, motorcycle travel advisor, and motorcycle tour operator. With our worldwide motorcycle travel experience, we offer the benefits of individual consulting on your motorcycle adventure. If you are planning a motorcycle rental in Europe, a guided motorcycle tour in America, or a motorcycle adventure tour in Patagonia… no matter what your plans are, we are ready if you are!It all started in my early childhood. Born in Switzerland and raised in Germany, I jumped on my bicycle at the age of 13 and rode by myself, sometimes for two weeks in a row from Germany through Switzerland and around.

It all started in my early childhood. Born in Switzerland and raised in Germany, I jumped on my bicycle at the age of 13 and rode by myself, sometimes for two weeks in a row from Germany through Switzerland and around.

My playground was the MX track near my parent’s house. I rode the track almost daily in route to visit school or friends. My trips got longer and soon there were nearly no limits, I visited about 50 countries worldwide riding a motorcycle.

In 1993, I saddled my Yamaha XT600 and started out to explore Africa. In eight months traveled I rode crossed the Sahara, the Congo up to the Serengeti.

I traveled for another twenty-one months through South America, passing the Andes several times, as well as the Amazon and the Darien jungle.

In 1996, I reached the United States and was overwhelmed by the beauty of the California desert, mountains, and coasts. I met incredible people taking me in the head of the US dirt bike scene. I started working as a freelance motorcycle tour guide, crossing the USA countless times. Those tours took me into most national parks, into Canada, and to some of the world’s biggest biker rallies, such as Sturgis.

In 1998, I registered the company name AdMo-Tours (Adventure Motorcycle Tours) and created a website for arranging motorcycle rentals as an agency worldwide. This early internet presence was a key for AdMo’s success during the company early years. I started organizing and operating guided tours in Bolivia, Chile, Peru, the US, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Romania. In 2001 I founded AdMo-Tours Inc. in California, with a focus on motorcycle off-road tours and training. We were one of the early local businesses developing a special off-road training program, offering riding classes with the motto “Learn to Ride – Ride to Improve” on public land.

We obtained Government permits to take people on tours for most of the areas between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, including the Mojave National Monument, Death Valley National Park, Sequoia Forest, San Bernardino Forest, Ridgecrest and Barstow BLM districts and more.In 2010 I founded AdMo-Tours GmH in Southern Germany in addition to the Wrightwood business. The aim is to offer German language customers efficient service in their native language. In addition, our base in the Bavarian Allgäu is a perfect location to operate our guided motorcycle tours through the Alps, Southern Europe, and Eastern Europe.

We have a great standard program of prescheduled single and multi-day tours but we also organize custom tours for business employees, motorcycle clubs, and individuals.

Whatever your definition of motorcycle adventure is, it is a unique experience to discover the multifaceted wonders of this earth. AdMo-Tours will help you to ride the world on two wheels.

Has it been a smooth road?
We are dirt bikers, we love the rough and wild… The road is never smooth when you ride into the unknown… One of the toughest experience has been to realize we need to be permitted by land owners and government for every inch we are riding as a commercial outfitter.

Initially, we thought that permits are only needed for offering something on the land, not for riding through on existing trails and roads. It was a major setback when we could not take customers on some of the routes we designed. Finally after many years of hard work we made it happen that we have permits for much of Southern California. We have preapproved routes where we can take people to some of the hardly known hidden wonders off the beaten path. A bit of a setback we encounter currently due to technology. The internet got dynamic and web presence need to be sophisticated to work with smart mobile devices. We have been working on updating our data and can now offer a website with only AdMo’s own tour operator products. Admo-tours.info will display nicely on your smart phone and allow you to make an immediate booking for your local dirt bike rental, tour or training over the internet.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the AdMo-Tours Inc story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The general awareness that the public can rent a motorcycle and travel the world on two wheels is growing. We see many more motorcycle rental provider and tour operator today than 20 years back.
