Meet Nik Metcalf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nik Metcalf.

Nik, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started in high school. My friend Kyle Cameron taught me how to make money on Twitter using affiliate marketing. Some weeks I’d make over $1,000 (decent money for a kid in hs). After high school, I moved from Buffalo, NY to Los Angeles to work for my friend’s social media company.

I learned the business side of social media and worked on large accounts such as @earthpix, @historyinpics, @tyga, @treysongz & more. Taking what I learned, I moved back to Buffalo to start my own social media marketing agency. Once I had a few clients & enough income, I moved back to LA to pursue larger accounts. Now working with celebrities and even pro athletes, social media marketing is my bread & butter- but making people happy is my passion.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Moving back to Buffalo after living in LA was tough- but moving into my parent’s basement was even tougher. I spent almost a year in my parent’s basement getting my social media marketing agency off the ground. It wasn’t until I had my first client I could get my own place again. Sometimes we need to take 1 step back in order to take three steps forward.

Nik Metcalf – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I pride myself on providing actual value. My business makes people more money. I’ve been doing social media marketing for almost ten years- experience & constantly evolving will lead an individual to the top of their industry.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far is working with NBA champion Samaki Walker. Samaki trains athletes to become better basketball players. I was able to increase his local reach, inbound messages & overall social media presence through Instagram & Facebook.
