Meet Adrienne Kessler of Leaf’d in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Kessler.

Adrienne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started out as Heal Estate and changed to Leaf’d at http://www.leafd.com. After having experienced an environmental illness caused from chemicals and toxins, I was forced to change my career from hairstyling in the Motion Picture industry, to buying and selling real estate. The chemicals in hairstyling had made me ill, and I had no choice but to find another career.

I was inspired to create an online business that changed the habits of consumers to a more earth-friendly lifestyle, and because Millennials are currently the change-makers, they are our largest demographic. It ‘s a winning combination, as they demand green and eco-friendly products and services. The concept of “going green” is seriously not an option, as we’re running out of time to change the paradigm of how we live and what choices we make. Now is the time to have healthier, safer and cleaner options for people and planet.

Leaf’d offer a very wide array of sustainable, eco-friendly products for everyone. In addition, our site is designed to educate and inform our customers about the urgency to go green in buying and living. We talk about the latest innovations in the sustainable world, along with the latest news and information on sustainable living and lifestyles.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding our unique voice in this growing industry and how we chose to create our business, was our initial challenge. I have been funding this business for the past five years, though we only recently launched our Green Marketplace as Leaf’d. We’re now seeking investors in order to grow our marketing and retain a business strategist to help us expand in the right way.

The challenges will always present themselves, and so far we have met them head on and with solutions that work for us. Now investors are important as we expect to expand into every home globally in the next five years.

Hiring the proper workforce was a large challenge along the way, and naturally, everyone has a different idea on how to approach a business model and plan. Fortunately, we’ve been able to rise above these challenges in order to meet our goals. An investor, as I mentioned, is the next step, and we’re currently in the process of finding the right person(s).

Leaf’d – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Leaf’d is set to become a global green marketplace, offering green products of all kinds for most of our customer’s needs. We’re exclusively eco-friendly and curate brands that share our mandate of ethical, transparent, organic and fair trade goods. Not only do we have our market platform, but we also have a journal section that teaches, informs, and elevates the consumer/viewer to the next level of sustainable living. We give a percentage of our profits to our personal philanthropies, are community-oriented with projects for kids and neighborhoods to help them live more sustainably, and have a marketing platform that intrinsically changes the buying habits of people across the globe.

As a company, we’re most proud of our eco-conscious efforts to make the world a safer and more sustainable place. We’re one of the only green marketplaces that is a one-stop shop.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Getting this business off the ground.
