Meet Gregg Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregg Young.

Gregg, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are the “House Band” at the iconic California Historic Landmark, Dome Arclight Entertainment Center, Sunset & Vine. Our Summer 2019 Season runs every Friday & Saturday evening 6-9PM, May through the end of September.

Our lineups & guest artists vary. Lineups are branded, Gregg Young & the 2nd Street _______________ Band. Insert Groove Jazz w/horns, Latin Style, Steel Drum, GY & the 2nd St. Band w/vocals. We are multi-genre & award winning as a Band.

Many of the players are Grammy Award-winning & or Nominated. We will have a four evening run Thanksgiving Day night followed by the next three nights. We will close out the year with a Christmas Day night through New Years Day night run.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Making music is joy & pleasure! Playing rearranged top hits & award-winning original works is a blessing. Playing movie soundtrack songs & writing songs that fit with the movie music is fun & challenging at the same time.

Here’s a good example, I wrote India Mine for the opening of the 100 Foot Journey. Here we are playing it live for the Long Beach Marathon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Bqfih6eyX8

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
