Meet Nicholas Tramontin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Tramontin.

Nicholas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
-Raised in San Francisco
-Grew up in the emergence of skateboard culture and graffiti art.
-Always in trouble for making art instead of doing school work.

Discovered a passion for automobiles at a young age, felt a sense of freedom when behind the wheel and always imagined the car to look different in my own ways. Began to re-imagine and design cars I owned with personal details inspired by urban art.

Moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the arts and quickly found myself broke and in need of a job which landed me and Porsche performance shop. Using my passion for cars and people, I quickly found success in trading cars and building custom vehicles.

From using art as therapy and refuge, I am now moving into selling both the art I create as well as the rare cars I source.

Has it been a smooth road?
The business I have created is completely from scratch, I came to LA at 19 years old knowing almost no one. This city can be a brutal experience to break into, I worked for nothing and sometimes a loss just to meet clients and immerse myself into subcultures and groups who could recognize my talents. After 14 years I am just now starting to break through.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a creative entrepreneur. Making things look and feel special is my talent. I create art to hang on walls and design cars to command attention on the road. I think I may be one of the only places you can buy a race car and also take home a piece of art.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
This is funny, the quick answer would be run away!!! But if you want to be a successful creative you have to have a thick skin and entire the rejection from any big city, once you break through it will feel like a joke to have struggled so hard, but it’s a right of passage and also helps to develop you as an artist.
