Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Cavallaro.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was the President and founder of Emerald films NYC for 25 years. We produced high-end TV commercials for fortune 5oo companies creating many award-winning campaigns. I also produce all of conceptual artist Cosimo Cavallaro’s large scale art installations including the current one CHEESE WALL.
I feel like I am always seeking something new to learn and develop within myself I challenge weak parts and try to see if they will become stronger. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they painfully don’t. I am learning self-acceptance. I started to write about characters who were redefining their lives. That work developed into two novels. Dogs Have Angels too was published and won best in women’s fiction from Indie Reader Discovery awards. And recently completed is a New York makeover novel titled, Girl On A Ride
Please tell us about your art.
The message in my writing is never give up on yourself. The message in my producing of film and art projects is keep going until you get what you want.
Breathe and Breathe and tell yourself how much you love yourself no matter what is happening.
I grew up partially without a mother because my mother died when I was 12. It was brutal at first, but now many many years later, I can say my inspiration was being kind to myself like my mother would have been had she lived.
My writing is about people redefining themselves at any age.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is telling the story that means something to you.
