Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Giles.

Madeline, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?

Madeline, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got to where I am today through listening deeply to my heart – that may sound a little cliche, but it has truly guided and directed my decisions over the last 10 years. While I deeply respect and honor shared wisdom and well-meaning advice, ultimately – I choose to listen to and follow my heart above all else.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I started on this path well-intentioned, wide-eyed … and naive. I dove deep into various spiritual teachings and ended up hiding parts of myself by following the words I read as rules. When I walked away from this way of being within myself, it shifted many of the relationships and communities I spent time in – this was really challenging at first, it felt like losing an identity I didn’t realize I had held onto so tightly. I’ve had to overcome fears of being completely misunderstood and simply walk the path I sense is for me – even and especially when no one else gets it.

Please tell us about Angelic Breath Healing.
I am the founder of Angelic Breath Healing, which is a breathwork practice to experience angels. To me, angels are messengers of our heart – you don’t have to believe in angels or anything for that matter to have a meaningful experience. Breathwork activates somatic release, meaning it is easier to let go of pent up energy, unprocessed emotions, grief, judgments, stress – the practice takes us out of our minds and into the body, so we don’t need to figure things out or think our way out of something…

Underneath all processed emotions is Love, and that eternal space of Love inside is where angels reside within us. What I’ve witnessed is that a lot of people think connecting with angels means disengaging with the body and human experience – that it’s about ‘transcending’ or ‘ascending’ out of the human experience into some heavenly reality where everything is perfect and nothing challenging ever happens.

To me, this is a huge misunderstanding on the nature of Divine Support. There is tremendous Compassion available for the human experience, and as we breathe into what’s here within us – we open to remembering and experiencing who we are. This is what I intend to hold space for – it’s not a lecture or knowledge-based practice, it’s about experience.

I am also trained in Spiritual Psychology, breathwork, herbalism, and kundalini yoga – all of which influence my practice. I work 1:1 with clients through counseling and also share retreats around the world. It’s an ongoing evolution, and I am so grateful to continue refining and growing.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago with an expansive forest preserve behind my parents’ house … I used to spend all day playing underneath a willow tree back there. I remember the surrounding golden fields and the way the light felt when the sun started to set on those summer nights … it felt like freedom. My childhood experiences with nature continue to influence my life and choices today!
