Meet Nicki Maron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicki Maron.

Nicki, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Blushington was started by my sister Stephi at the age of 21. At that time, I was working in marketing in the entertainment business. After grueling hours on set and learning from the best marketers in the world, I left the business to lead all marketing, PR and digital efforts for Blushington.On December 10, 2011, the first Blushington Makeup & Beauty Lounge opened in West Hollywood, CA where “Feeling Pretty is Priceless”. In five short years, we have expanded to California, Texas and New York and we have firmly established Blushington as the destination of choice for the highest quality professional makeup applications in a trusted and beautiful environment.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Going into business with your family can be quite scary, especially your younger sister! Luckily for me, my sister is my best friend and my family is incredibly close. We also have been incredibly fortunate to have met our CEO, Natasha Cornstein, who has been an invaluable partner for us.

Please tell us about Blushington.
Blushington is a place for all women to feel special and look gorgeous. We want every customer who leaves our lounges feeling like a million bucks! We are known for listening to our clients and allowing their natural beauty to shine through. Our motto: feeling pretty is priceless. Unlike department stores, Blushington does not require clients to purchase

Unlike department stores, Blushington does not require clients to purchase product. We were the first to market services first. Our clients don’t have the pressure to spend, and can instead experiment and try out different makeup looks. We have curated the best of the best brands for our teams, including brands such as Kevyn Aucoin, Becca, Jouer and Girlaktic.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
That’s a tough one!Favorite memory from childhood occurred when I first started playing soccer in AYSO. I must have been 8 or 9 years old. My coach had taken me out for some water and we were down 1-0. I said, coach, put me back in, I’ll score a goal. And sure enough, he put me back in and we won the game.
