Conversations with the Inspiring Crystal Hsu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Hsu.

Crystal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a travel and lifestyle influencer based in Los Angeles. I started my social media journey about four years ago, and luckily, I have encountered and been inspired by many like-minded individuals. My passion is to empower and inspire people to get out of their comfort zone to explore the world and pursue their dreams and keep reinventing themselves. Life is too short to be wasted on doing things you don’t like, and we don’t want regrets in life at the end, right?

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s a period of time when I was lost and struggled about how to grow my following or what is the right content I should put out there; and the constant change of Instagram algorithm is another challenge that often times I felt frustrated just because of one photo I posted didn’t receive the number of likes I expected. But at the end of the day, I realize that everything takes time to build, the only way sustain is to be truthful to yourself and create valuable content that you believe in. It may be hard if you are only looking to be instant famous or thinking short-term. It takes a lot of efforts, time and sweats to grow your community, and engage with your audience; so before you start, ask yourself what you are passionate about, and what’s your purpose and message you want to deliver, and from there, just KEEP ON DOING IT and enjoy the ride. 🙂

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I have a 9 to 6 full-time job like many others while having my social media platforms as my passion projects on the side. I enjoy having the diverse experiences doing different things so my mind is constantly challenged and stimulated.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
Don’t be afraid to reach out to people when you need a piece of advice or just want to connect with them, if you don’t take the first step to ask, you will never know where it’s going to take you to. Trust me, you will be surprised!
