Today we’d like to introduce you to Romeo Reese.
Romeo, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
It’s hard to condense my entire journey, but what I can say is that it has been an interesting one. From a pop boy group to touring the world in a dance/rock band to modeling in Kanye West’s fashion show to going solo and moving to LA, my life has been anything but slow. A big chunk of my story is that I was part of a group that had the opportunity to tour full time and perform in front of people all over the world. The only downside was that the music that was being created did not represent me very well. I didn’t particularly care for it and I knew at some point, I would leave the group. It was a big leap, but I did it and now I’m pursuing my dreams.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
First and foremost I am a singer, but I’m also an actor and a model. Within each field, my main goal stays the same, to create emotion inside the viewer/listener. I want people to feel something from my work. A song could be relatable to their lives or a picture/scene of my work makes them feel sad/happy/nostalgic. As long as I have made you feel something, then that’s a win.
All the songs I write come from personal experience or about the friends in my circle. I want my work to help people through issues like other artists have helped me. To impact someone’s life through music is such an amazing thing.
The word “Meraki” means to do something with soul or leaving a piece of yourself in what you are doing. That resonates with me.
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I feel as if people can’t take in a lot of music at one time unless you’re already a household name. As an upcoming artist with a lot to prove, it’s a struggle to fight the urge to release more than a couple songs at a time. But listeners get really bored very quickly.
I also feel that since there are so many artists who are striving for the same end goal, it’s hard to stand out amongst the masses. Authenticity gets muddied, but I believe that my message and aesthetic will shine through.

My Instagram and Twitter (@clubromeo_) are where I post updates on my latest work or what I am currently involved in. I believe in the power of word of mouth and the internet so if people share with their friends and post about my work, big things could happen. And definitely coming out to the concerts help.
