Today we’d like to introduce you to Kumar Patel.
Kumar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started day trading and swing trading when I was 18 to pay my college bills. Then, I learned the art of understanding financial markets and market trends. After that, I decided to study law – but after beginning work as a law clerk, I realized that becoming an attorney wasn’t for me. So, I decided to apply that knowledge to established enterprises that included one of the largest insurance companies in California; and later applied that experience to the startup world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
“If you’re not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.” – Reid Hoffman, Founder of LinkedIn. This pretty much summarizes our beta launch.
Since our platform is first of its kind, we had to make our own blueprint. We had a lot of setbacks when it came to designing our platform. Then, when we launched our beta version, it ended up being a disaster from a user experience (UX) perspective.
Translating vision to reality was tough, but we believe our new interface launching in December will resolve the issues – and we look forward to better serving our customers.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Omnidya – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Omnidya Platform empowers consumers to find the best deals while also enabling enterprises to efficiently target their customers in real time. Usually, it takes between 15 – 35 minutes for an insurance company to generate a single quote. With Omnidya, you’ll receive quotes on home insurance in under 60 seconds. Soon, we’ll be expanding to auto insurance, travel, and wireless plans.
We essentially create a bot clone of each consumer, based on their background and demographics. Powered by machine learning, Omnibot finds the best deal for each consumer – and in the future, will be able to negotiate with enterprises in real time.
The best offer that fits your requirements is delivered directly to your smart device, while our app syncs with smart home assistants like Alexa or Google Home. You can communicate with Omnibot through your smart home assistants to ask any questions you might have about your insurance or travel, and if the bot needs any additional information, it’ll just ask you.
Because we respect your privacy, we won’t share any irrelevant information with the companies you’re purchasing your deals from. So, your insurance company won’t know that you just went on a trip to France, and the company you just booked your vacation with won’t know what kind of car you drive.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Strategic Partnerships. Looking forward to forging more strategic partnerships with insurance companies and travel providers.
Physical Location. Our team is currently remote and distributed. But the first Omnidya office will be located in Venice starting at the beginning of 2019 – and then we’ll all be in one place.
Secure Funding. We are planning on securing more funding toward the end of 2018/beginning of 2019.
Launch Version 2.0. The new and improved version of Omnidya launches in December, which includes a revised interface – making for smoother user experience.
