Meet Dr. Raymond Nourmand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Raymond Nourmand.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Raymond. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Growing up, I was generally very sensitive to peoples’ feelings and emotional states. Very in-touch with what was happening around me. In particular, I was good at picking up on other peoples’ pain. I could tell when people were sad, unhappy, angry, and sometimes even what prompted them to feel that way. As I got older, I noticed my ability to do this got stronger.

Certainly, through years of training and seeing many clients with many different issues, this ability has gotten more refined, allowing me to decipher subtleties in human behaviors to a finer degree. Today as a Psychologist, I’ve gotten to a really special place, where I could tell how people are feeling and what they’re thinking without them saying much. It’s really a gift that has helped people, and I look forward to using it to help many more.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Probably the biggest challenge I’ve experienced comes from being overwhelmed by being so in-touch with things around me. People are good at carrying a lot of pain with themselves, sometimes without even consciously realizing it. Fortunately, I’ve gotten really good training that has taught me how to manage my feelings better, so that I can stay happy in my personal life and be effective as a psychologist as well.

We’d love to hear more about your practice.
Dr. Raymond Nourmand, Ph.D. is a psychology private practice in Los Angeles, specializing in treating children, teenagers, and adults with a wide range of mental health issues. I focus on treating people struggling with: anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, self-esteem, loss and grief, anger, learning challenges, suicidality, and addictions.

What makes me different as a psychologist is my intuition – my ability to listen deeply to what clients are saying, hearing what they mean, and getting to the bottom of what their problems really are. In fact, I usually get to the root causes of my clients’ issues pretty quickly.

What were you like growing up?
I was pretty sensitive, friendly, liked making people happy. I liked playing basketball, bike riding, and just staying active.
