Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Fieger.
Jeff, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up in the South Bay, Manhattan Beach, CA to be exact. Growing up surrounded by a surf and skate culture heavily influenced my work from an early age. I clearly remember obsessively drawing my favorite action sport brand logos on anything I could get my hands on. My later influences came from my travels. Living and traveling through Hawaii, Indonesia, and Australia are of few locations that opened my eyes to a whole new color palette to work from. I enjoy incorporating both the dark and light sides to the exotic landscapes and scenes that I create. I paint on a wide range of canvas such as traditional wall murals, guitars, skateboards, surfboards, and clothing. I’ve recently found a new love for Graphic Design and am pursuing a career in that field.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As a creative, I hope to deliver a clear visual communication style that makes a lasting impression. I like the theory of less is more and creating a composition that has a one-two punch to it. I do not have a niche I with, but enjoy dabbling in all sorts of mediums such as spray paint, acrylic paint, pen, and ink, to designing graphics on Adobe suite!
What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
As an artist, I define success by how well I can visually change and “beautify” the world. If I can connect to my audience through artwork in one way, shape, or forum, I feel like I’ve done my job. Keeping professional standards, pushing myself, and having a good hard work ethic is important as well to achieve any sort of success.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I am a member of @hermosaartistcollective…now re-branded as @southbayartistcollective. We’ve worked collectively to put on numerous art exhibits at an awesome gallery space called Resin in Hermosa Beach, CA. You can find some of my work on display there. Having a look at my website and social media would be the best ways to get a glimpse of what I do.
