Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Milde.
Mary, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was 15 years old when I started posting my pictures on Instagram. My family and I went to Austria for a winter vacation, I was looking at those beautiful snowy trees and mountains and thinking “I want to have a beautiful Instagram”. For me, it was kind of a fun thing to do – take multiple pictures from different angles, then choose the best ones and post them. A couple months later, that thought has turned into “I want to inspire people”. I’ve found recently that way before Instagram I was actually starting out with the platform called “We Heart It”, it was very popular back then.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a perfectionist, so I’ve always been struggling with making everything perfect in the process of creating content, which kind of makes sense for social media, but sometimes it can be annoying.
What should we know about Instagram – @mary.milde? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m covering several topics in my Instagram account (@mary.milde), such as fashion, self-motivation, travel tips, bohemian style, but I prefer to call it a lifestyle blog.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
People have been talking for years about women competition at work, personal communication, etc. I believe that we’re here not to compete, but to support each other.
