Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Ramisch.
Brian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have had an interest in anatomy, movement, and esoteric healing systems since the early 2000’s when I began to study Hakkoryu Jujutsu and Koho Shiatsu. Sometime around 2010 I was becoming dissatisfied with my career in the arts and began to have an overwhelming urge to be of service in the world.
This feeling of wanting to help people live better lives led me to my study of Reiki and massage. After massage school, I opened my private practice and continued to study new approaches to healing, including Craniosacral Therapy, Somato-Emotional Release, and Zero Balancing. Over the years a unique style of bodywork has emerged from these elements, which I call Shiatsu Alchemy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Running a business can be tough for sure, and I’ve hit many snags. One of the hardest things to overcome is that for me the stress can trigger anxiety, depression, and headaches, all of which I’ve suffered from, off and on, for years.
However, I’ve found such relief myself from bodywork (Shiatsu and Craniosacral Therapy in particular) that ultimately I get reinvigorated knowing that the work I do is able to help other folks like me.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Shiatsu Alchemy – what should we know?
I use Shiatsu Alchemy to help people reduce, manage and eliminate their pain and stress.
I specialize in treating people with chronic pain, headaches/migraines/jaw pain, depression, and anxiety. Since I’ve felt all of these dysfunctions myself, I’m really focused on understanding how to deal with them effectively.
I can also really empathize with my clients and am able to share the strategies I’ve developed to deal with this stuff in my own life.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve had many helpers and teachers-of-lessons along the way, but by far my biggest mentor/supporter/cheerleader/advocate/client/teammate is my wife Lauren.
Without her faith in me, I don’t know if I’d have made it this far!
