Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Byer.
Josh, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started painting non-stop after a conversation I had with my mother on her deathbed. “Don’t wait,” she said.
My style is called Faux Fauvism. The goal of Faux Fauvism is to pinpoint the moment in cognition when pattern recognition occurs.
In the spring of 2018, this technique was recognized by the Saatchi Gallery as a new category of modern art.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I believe that art can use beauty to take the pain out of the world.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Be kind. It’s the best way.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I’ve been in the décor space a little over 4 years, with artwork appearing on 1000+ licensed products available via Walmart, Overstock.com, Wayfair, Art.com, Amazon, Posterlounge, AllPosters, and Great Big Canvas.
“Le Néon”, the 1st Canadian Exhibition of Faux Fauvist Artwork opens on the evening of Friday, September 14th at the Amelia Douglas Gallery in New Westminster, Canada. The exhibition will run until the 20th of October. Please visit www.byercreative.com for more information.
